Believe

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure & wearing lipstick. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. I believe in Miracles.

My Garden

Growing my Garden.
I started in August. We found some free dirt and 2by4's, so I dug up the hard soil and weeded the area. Jer built the squares for me and I spray painted the wood yellow..just because i think it looks cute!
This is what it looked like when it was ready to be planted.
ps. don't mind my back yard...it isn't the prettiest.

Pretty soon, I had little seedlings and this made me so excited.
I planted: Peas, Carrots, Lettuce, Cilantro, Basil, Green Onion, Beets, Broccoli, and squash.
Some of the plants grew faster than others.
Within about 4 months of pruning, weeding and watering, we harvested!
And you won't believe it, but everything made it through the winter and continued to grow!!! This was I can keep my fridge stocked with healthy, organic veggies!
Uh Oh... I thought I had a GOFER- Turns out, it was just Belle sniffing around and poking her nose in the garden. She has stopped doing this- I'm lucky i don't have a naughty dog that digs.
This is what the Garden looks like now... I have just planted for my Spring harvest: Onions, spinach, peppers, green beans and Cauliflower are added to this mixture. I hope to plant Potatoes, tomatoes and mint soon.
I have had NO LUCK with planting flowers yet... I will try harder with that over this summer, so that I can make Beautiful bundles like my sister-in-law Lexie can:
On a side note- Wheat Grass is SUPER easy to grow and very rewarding. I did it to snip some and put with my morning smoothies...I just didn't maintain it for long enough and it died... I'll do it again soon though!
Try.Fail.Try.Succeed
It has been really great being able to go and get my own Veggies from my own Garden. I will continue to do this my whole life and I'm so excited to own my own home one day so I can plant more stuff and also have fruit TREE'S!
