Believe

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure & wearing lipstick. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. I believe in Miracles.

Perry Stringham Warner

Meet Perry Stringham Warner. Born 10/18/18 at 12:44pm. Weighing 7lbs2oz, 20” long. Perry is derived from a Latin name meaning wanderer/traveler 😊

I definitely got the the point of just BEING DONE with being pregnant and went for a long walk after being stretched and stripped by my doctor, crying and praying for a miracle. I had been having sporadic contractions for 4 days and was very discouraged that they weren’t progressing, they just hurt. After not being able to get to sleep, contractions started getting more intense around 2am (my walk worked!) by 4:30 they were 3-4 mins a part, I called the nurse who said to come in then I woke up Jer and said it’s go time. We checked in to Triage about 5:30am and I was 4cm,80% effaced so they checked me in to the VIP room (thank you Jay!). Jay came to give me my epidural by around 8/9am. Life got better then! I rested and labored until I was at almost a 6. Dr came to break my water around noon to keep things progressing. Baby’s heart beat dropped so I turned on my side and within minutes I was (literally) screaming and felt ready to push. When women say they "felt an urge to push"- that is the biggest under statement of the century. the URGE to PUSH is no freaking joke. My awesome nurse Allison heard my screams from the hallway 😱and everyone came back in (including nurse Tanya who was my nurse for Ivy!). Sure enough I went from a 5 to a 10 super fast (like within 5 minutes and things got real. Most pain/pressure I have ever felt in my life! Jay hurried in to give me a boost on my epidural (quickly leaving after hearing my war cries), I got my sh together and started pushing through contractions. A second degree tear, some jokes about Jamba Juice and 30 minutes later, baby was born. The Dr asked Jer if he wanted to cut the umbilical cord, he said “not really” and she responded by saying “that’s not what you’re supposed to say” and made him do it anyway 😂. While I got stitched up, they cleaned Perry and he latched like a pro.
Big sis met him later that evening and is quite unsure about everything. We were happy to go home the next day.
This year of my pregnancy has been extremely challenging. It’s been hard for me to keep perspective but it’s onward and upward from here with this sweet miracle finally out of my body! He is SO much better out than in!💃🎉 happy birthday Perry! We are just so happy he is here.
