Believe

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure & wearing lipstick. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. I believe in Miracles.

summer

I have left the working world and have embraced the "Stay-at-home" mom life and boy is it fun!! haha It seems I have all the time in the world to do whatever I feel like doing, whenever I feel like doing it, with the exception of making sure Ivy continues to be the happiest baby on the planet!

I go to crossfit, cook, clean, shop, laundry and then basically play with Ivy all day. I'm sure as Ivy grows and becomes more mobile life will get busier but hey, for now I'm living it up... so much so that Jeremy has started telling me I need to find other productive things to be doing!!! Poor guy, He comes home from a loong, hot day at work, only to hear about how fun my day was. But, he was the one who pushed me to stop working so I can be with Ivy full time, so this is what he gets!!

Kat and Andrew came for a visit on their way back from camping in Yosemite! It was a great time! Jer wasn't there because he was on a four wheeling trip with his uncles in Utah (I still think he plays more than he remembers!!)

Ivy at 6 weeks and then 6 months!
Look at my baby grow!!!!
She's 14lbs here at her 6 month check up

Still my happy baby all dressed up for church. Her feet still barely fit into these 0-3 size shoes. They've barely grown at all since she was born!
She still looks like Jeremy in every way except for her blue eyes that match mine!! Finally! We share 1 of the same characteristics haha
Ivy went to the dentist with me and was such a good girl sitting still on my lap while I got my teeth cleaned :)

at 6.5 months she has her own little toothy poking out. She hasn't been drooley or too miserable through it all.

Cross fit is going well. I am definitely getting stronger. The only thing is when it's already 95* at 10AM here in Bakersfield and the gym is just in a garage with no air conditioning.
We sweat through it! I've been struggling A LOT with my weight gain and new body shape. I'm really only 5-10 lbs heavier than when I got pregnant but that's a lot for my shorty frame. I strict dieted for a month and I gained weight. Very discouraging. I'm hoping that when I stop nursing, I will lose the rest of the weight- which will probably be soon because I'm losing my milk big time.

Got my hair done- It's super blonde... I guess that's what people do for the summer? But I'm going to go back soon and get it darker, I don'y think it suits me being so light especially around my face.

I've been doing some little home projects and this first one has been re-doing the end tables in the living room. I like how they turned out.
I held Art camp and Science camp. It went well. The days were exhausting but I made good money and the kids LOVED it!

Ivy, chilling with dad after work.

She is so clever, holding her own bottle. and I love when she falls asleep in my arms.

She got so hot and tired after cross fit I put her in a cool bath but she just wanted to sleep, I didn't even get a chance to put her diaper on!! haha

Poor little girl- On Fathers day we made Jeremy breakfast in bed and I gave her a little bit of egg-> the doctor said that she can eat anything now that she's 6 months old except for honey... well it turns out she has a very bad/sensitive egg allergy. I've tested it once more and she got this bad rash. At first it was welted up and then the swelling goes down and just shows these red bumps- poor thing. Hopefully the allergy won't be forever.

Our first "get a baby sitter and go out" date night!!
We went to the indoor goKarting race track with Wes and Lindsey and then got Dessert at BJ's afterward. It was a fun time!

It has honestly been sooooo hot in Bakersfield that it is absolutely miserable to go outside except if you are going to be in the pool. I feel a bit like a hermit. Usually (before baby) I didn't mind the heat as much, but these days I get worried that Ivy will het hot- it can happen so quickly with temperatures being above 100* every day. She does love the pool though!

Love me a squeaky clean baby!

I went and had a beach day with some friends and we stopped at the Avila Barn/ Farmers market where they had ripe and delicious peaches. Ivy couldn't get enough!!

This was from June 29th. Had a play date with my old work friends/ Ivy's little boy friends.
Ivy is the only baby out of 6 babies that were born to Norris teachers this year that is a girl!
Here is Jackson, Nolan and Frankie.

Ivy continues to love on her dad!!! He is the best and oh so much fun!

Shhhh!

I had so much fun at the beach, we decided to go back and bring Jer this time to force him to take a day off of work :)

Everyone passed out in the car! Bell was so bushed she barely moved for two days afterward!

Another little craft for the front door.

Aaaaand another for under the TV :)

So on July 3rd we went over to WA! best week ever!!! Man, I love it there.
We just had the best time. We stayed at the cabin in Lake Chelan all week and loved every minute.
We ate good food, wake surfed, sun tanned, read books, played games and hung out on the dock. I was thrilled that Jer could come, last minute. It was a well-deserved break for him!

We celebrated 4th of July at the cabin.

Coach Dave sent me my cross fit work outs and I got them done, with some improvisation for my kettlebell swings.

We took a day to go and check out Stahekin, WA.
It is an unincorporated community of only about 75 permanent residents. It is only reachable by passenger ferry (Lady of the Lake), by foot over the cascade Pass ( a part of the Pacific Crest Trail), by private boat from Chelan, or by floatpane. It is about a 60 mile boat ride down Lake Chelan with the most besutiful mountain landscapes all the way. We docked the boat once we got there, rented bicycles and headed to the Stehekin Pastry company for lunch. It was a great time!

We came home to a beautiful sunset and more games and fun.

We rocked the dock!

Went to Tyler White's mission farewell talk.
Ivy sure loves Kamry!

Jer left on Sunday and Ivy and I stayed for a few more days in Wenatchee.

She got to hang out with her cute girl cousins who absolutely loved and adored her.

Hung out at the cabin for one more day with Alyssa.

Then off we went to fly back home.
It is a WAY different ball game when traveling by yourself with a baby!
Ivy was pretty cranky and teething and sick too.
We made it all in one piece though.

JULY 14
After a few restless nights of a teething baby Ivy, I got desperate and started sleeping training.
I started by putting her down and letting her fall asleep all by herself for naps. Once she got the hang of that, she cried it out (heart breaking!) She cried for a full hour before falling asleep at night.

She's my happy baby during the day,  that is still for sure.
I got a new car seat for her and she doesn't cry in the car anymore. Night and day change! I think her infant car seat was uncomfortable for her.

She has started to scoot and roll around. Her crawling days are coming!!! (aaaah)

JULY 19
Ivy started consistently sleeping through the night!!!!!!! The day before her 8 month birthday!
Halleluja because I don't think I could have kept going and functioning for very much longer with waking up throughout the night so many times!

Now she really is my perfect, angel baby!
She is so good and chill and fun. She eats well, sleeps well, she's the best!

July 19
Went to San Diego to visit Mattie and Lexie for a few days.

aaaaand back recovering from another trip!

JULY 22
Jer took the day off and we took the jetskis to lake Buena vista.
lol look at that face!

Since Ivy has been falling asleep on her own, it was brilliant having her fall asleep snuggling up to me this one time. Had to capture the sweet moment.

Since she's been so much more mobile these days, I found her like this in the morning haha
She was a bit stuck!

Cross fit is going well. still getting stronger.

See that little toothy!
My beautiful blue-eyed girl.
I really do love hangin out with Ivy all day long.
She's my little buddy. We talk and laugh and play all day.

JULY 29
Good morning!

JULY 29
Uncle Jeff watched Ivy while Jer and I went for a massage for our 6 year anniversary.
We came back to find her passed out on him, SO CUTE!

Matching blue bows for church!
AUGUST 4, 2017
We went with Wes and Lindsey to raft the Kern river.
Doing scary adrenalin-rush type of things is hard for me so it was good to get out of my comfort zone.
We had the greatest time! Class 3 and 4 rapids all the way down. Stopped once for a yummy lunch prepared by the raft guides and another time to cliff jump.... I jumped!
1, 2, 3, go

There was a fire up in the mountain along the river and this helicopter was coming to the river to get water, dump it on the fire and would circle around to do it again. He did it RIGHT in front of us. It was SO cool to see! Definitely a once in a life time thing to see, it was great.
