Believe

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure & wearing lipstick. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. I believe in Miracles.

Our Summer Project

This summer, we bought a TRI-PLEX!
Here is is from the outside. We god a good deal on it. We were able to put 25% down, and we are already seeing the hard work we did on the re-model paying off.
Okay, so here is what it looked like at first:
Nasty carpet and yucky paint.

Lots of mold etc. So we decided to demo and re-do!
Starting with getting new toilets!

We took out all the cupboards, counters and sinks.
Chip up the tile

Knocked down all base boards and door frames,
removed all light fixtures and plug covers/outlet fixtures.

Took out some walls to insulate and re sheet rock.

Under the old carpet, the linoleum was still in tact... double the work right there!

We re-mudded the ceiling to remove the nasty pop corn ceiling.
a HUGE difference!

Then we started painting and re tiling, and got new carpet for the bedrooms.

We re painted the closets too.

Got new kitchen cupboards, granite and back splash.
(units A and B have brown cabinets, C has white)

Here is unit C.

Before and afters below...

Unit C got better carpet as well. Super awesome too- our friends Wes and Lindsey had just bought a house and were getting new carpet and since their old one wasn't in terrible shape, we took their old carpet, cleaned it up and vwalla... super nice for an Oildale rental I think!

Finally seeing the efforts of our labors!

And then moving in!
We are so grateful for our friends who helped us with re re-model during the hot summer and for helping us move and for staying our friends even though we live further away now!

So, this is the place we have called home for the past couple of months.
We have unit A and B rented out and have a property manager. It has been great so far. I love how business savvy Jeremy is, because now with the Tri-plexs' income, it will pay for itself, and most of our house payment as well!
It's been alright, but I am SUUUUPER excited to move into our new house next month
:D

Zion National Park 2015

Hello Zion National Park!!!!
One day after work in July, Jeremy and I rented a car and drove up to Zion. (All through the night, which we decided we are too old to do now, so we aren't going to do it again!)
Mattie was working there this summer (2015) while doing an Internship at the Zion Ponderosa Resort.
It was a great place with mini golf, zip lining, a pool, four wheeling, horse back riding etc.

We had a great time hanging around the Sunday that we got there.
On Monday, Mattie had planned an awesome day trip for us to go repelling:
Here is us suiting up!
It was Mattie, Jeremy, Kamry, me and Matties friend who I forgot his name.

Yes, this is crazy and incredible all at the same time!

This is me saying "Woah, that was crazy!"

Starting to get the hang of it!

Not the greatest of pictures, but the greatest of times!

It was raining, but we didn't mind because we saw a whole different kind of beautiful that the park had to offer.

This is us taking a drive.

We decided to hike above ground the next day!

Hey, we were just all the way down there yesterday!

After our hike, we did some zipping.

And, of coarse, when it rains, we must ride!

Ended the evening with, dinner, some rock wall climbing, and a fire that Mattie built all by herself!

The next day Mattie, Jeremy, me and Mattie's other friend, I forgot her name went on a long 10 mile hike that ended at the Narrows.

It was pretty cool!

By the end, my legs were beat and wobbly!
We headed back, cleaned up, said our goodbyes, and drove back to Bakersfield.
(After our stop at Costa Vida, of coarse!)
