Believe

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure & wearing lipstick. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. I believe in Miracles.

Sunny San Diego

Over conference weekend, Jer and I decided that we didn't have too much going on in Bako, so we went down to San Diego to stay and visit with Lexie and Brian. We got there on Saturday night, and stayed up and talked until we all fell asleep. On Sunday, Bri and Lex made us a delicious breakfast and then we watched the morning session of conference...and of coarse, took a nap. We then went to Elfin forest (I think that's what it's called) and we hiked around while listening to the Afternoon session of conference. Here (below) we are proclaiming the word (literally) on a mountain top!! People passing us probably thought we were very strange, but oh well!
My first time seeing a Rattle Snake in real life...woah!

We ended the night with good food and games and then a walk on Moonlight Beach.
On Monday morning, we got our Taxes done with Brian (it sure is wonderful having an accountant in the family!) and then Jer and I took a stroll along the 101 in Encinitas. We visited the Self-realization gardens, and they sure were beautiful. It is such a pretty time of year in So Cal, Spring is here, the flowers are in full bloom and the sun is out!

Hillsides with flowers!

Admiring the view
...Self Realizing (haha)

We then got some lunch and headed over to the Flower Fields. We walked around and had a fresh strawberry milkshake and a Strawberry Lavender Sunday. YUM!

After that, we hit up Lego Land!!!
And of coarse, like all Warner adventures, it wouldn't have started out right if we did not hop over a fence to get there. Well, actually we just didn't want to pay the $25 for parking.
Yes this is all made of Lego's!
Mini cities

Amazing stuff!

ChEeSe!!

Let me share our Lego Land trick (this is if you don't want to spend any money):
When you get there, park somewhere other than inside Lego Land ($20 saved) and then when you get to the entrance, go to the window that says MEMBERSHIP. Here you will pay for a 1 day pass, I think it was around $85.00, but you tell them that you want a "shopping pass" This allows you into the park for 1 full hour. Now set your alarm for 1 hour and go see stuff. After the hour is up, return to the MEMBERSHIP window, and they will refund your card ($85 saved!).
Star Wars is the Bomb!

Lego Land was well worth seeing...especially for the free hour. If you have a little kid that loves Lego's... or any kids, you will most definitely need more than the 1 hour though.

Amazing sunset!!

Selfie in the sun!..so what

We came home, cleaned up and went to Buffalo Wild Wings for a late dinner with Lexie. We caught the last few minutes of the last March Madness college Basketball game... I counted 35 Televisions in that restaurant. CRAZY! We ended the night playing Phase 10 (seriously my favorite card game!) until we fell asleep.
TUESDAY morning, we started the day off right with a bike ride along the beach. It was so fun seeing all the houses and surfers!
We then had some lunch at a cafe and sat out in the warm sun.
Picked up a paddle board and kayak and hit up Swami's beach.

Body Surfin'

 Thank goodness for wet suits!
After this, we freshened up and went to the San Diego Temple.
It is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! We had a great time of coarse!

We loaded up and said our goodbyes and hit the road home to Bakersfield.
I have loved living in California, it is a brilliant state (minus the taxes, but oh well)!
Jeremy is starting to work way more now, so this was a great "last Hurrah" trip for us.
Lots of smiles all around
